After my glowing review of my new MacBook a couple weeks back, I have to post a sad update. I had to send it in for service. The back light went out on the display. Apple sent a box via DHL and suggested I should expect a 10 day turnaround. The process has been relatively painless (though entirely disappointing) so far. At least the communication on the part of Apple has been good.
Unfortunately the status on the repair reads “On hold – part on order” right now. I hope I can still expect it back in 10 days.
